This privacy policy ("policy") will help you understand how Anne Oliver – Bookkeeping and Business Support uses and protects the data you provide to us when you use our services and / or visit and use the website www.anneoliver.co.uk .

I reserve the right to change this policy at any given time, which will be updated on my website. If you want to make sure that you are up to date with the latest changes, I advise you to frequently visit this page.

What user data I collect

When you use the services of the business I may collect the following data:

  • Personal details such as name, previous names, date of birth, marital status, NI number as well as address and contact details

  • Trading name and registered name of your business

  • Forms of identification which will be kept on file

  • Financial information including bank details and records, and current and past financial statements and statements of profit and loss as well as day to day financial transactions

Why I collect your data when you use the services of the business

I am collecting your data for several reasons:

  • To fulfil client due diligence under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Terrorism Act 2000 and the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Regulations 2002

  • To enable my business to provide the correct financial services to you and your business

  • To enable my business to ensure your business complies with regulated reporting to HMRC, Companies House, the Charity Commission and the Information Commissioners Office, as applicable

Restrictions and retention of data for clients

Your information will only be shared with your written permission and with the necessary authorities.

Access to the data is restricted to myself and any subsequent employees of the business.  I use Xero software which is a well-established internationally renowned accountancy software package, please read their privacy notice here.

Your data will be retained for 5 years after you cease using my services to comply with the law relating to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Terrorism Act 2000 and the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Regulations 2002.  It will then be securely destroyed.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

As a licenced member of AAT and a Xero Advisor I am required to update my continuing professional development annually.

Safeguarding and securing the data

The business Anne Oliver – Bookkeeping and Business Support is committed to securing your data and keeping it confidential. I have done all in my power to prevent data theft, unauthorized access, and disclosure by implementing the latest technologies and software, which helps me safeguard all the information I collect.

When you visit the website, I may collect the following data:

  • Your IP address

  • Your contact information and email address

  • Other information such as basic details about your business

Why I collect your data when you visit the website

I am collecting your data for several reasons:

  • To better understand your needs.

  • To improve our services and products.
